The Right To Breathe. (Veer)

A large majority of Americans want

and expect the EPA to protect them

from dirty air. They are saying that

everybody has a right to breathe

clean air. Will you ask your

members of Congress to join

us in making the Clean Air Promise?

Dear Supporter,

Kamira, age three, is one of 7 million children in the U.S. who has asthma. She will grow up to join the 17 million adults who also suffer from the disease.

Dirty air poses great risks to kids like Kamira. A lung full of pollution could land her in the emergency room or worse. Though many of our elected leaders care more about the influence of dirty industries than Kamira's health, many more people across the country are not as callous.

Watch 'The Clean Air Promise.'

Meet Kamira in The Clean Air Promise video.

A large majority of Americans want and expect the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to protect them from dirty air. They reject the efforts of industry lobbyists and their Congressional allies to block the EPA's plans to cut smog and soot pollution and reduce mercury and other toxics from coal-fired power plants and cement kilns—work that Earthjustice has been involved in for decades.

These Americans are saying that children like Kamira and their own families should be protected from dangerous pollution. They are saying that everybody has a right to breathe clean air. That's why Earthjustice has joined with a number of women's, environmental and public health organizations in the Clean Air Promise Campaign to protect the health of children and other vulnerable populations across the country from dangerous air pollution.

Will you join them by making the Promise and asking your Representative and Senators to do the same?

The Clean Air Promise:

"I promise to protect America's children and families from dangerous air pollution. Because toxics and pollutants such as mercury, smog, carbon, and soot cause thousands of hospital visits, asthma attacks, and even deaths, I will support clean air policies and other protections that scientists and public health experts have recommended to the Environmental Protection Agency to safeguard our air quality."

Fighting for clean air is about protecting the health of kids, families and the communities that we live and work in. Signing the Promise shows our elected leaders and other decision makers that clean air is a priority.

Together, we can make the world better for Kamira and millions of other kids.

Please sign the Promise and ask your Representative and Senators to join you:

Thanks for everything you do,

Sam Edmondson.
